The air conditioning was turned down so low, the air entering the cabin was visible with cold.
The flight was rather boring, actually. A ham sandwich with cheese, a cookie, and a bag of potato chips consisted of the in-flight meal, and the in-flight movie was "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton".
We took off early, so landed early.
St. Petersburg Airport is rather bass ackwards, and didn't have 'true terminals' where one walks up the jetway into the airport; we departed via steps and walked to the gate. No matter.
As I entered, I realized how badly I needed to use the facilities, so I did. As I exited, I called home just to tell everyone I'd made it safely. Made the requisite 'arms tired' jokes.
Called Nina. She kept asking me where I was... I told her I'd needed to go to the bathroom and she said just to head out to the main area of the airport. There she stood, as I crossed past the security checkpoint, in sharp pinstripe pants, a soft sweater, and hanging up her cellphone.
We embraced, and headed to baggage claim.
I grabbed my suitcase, with my backpack on one shoulder and laptop bag over the other. We exited the airport and headed for her car.
Suitcases stowed, we headed to her apartment.
Parked. Carried bags up. Was instantly assaulted by her two dogs, Tori and Shar. Both are... some dog I don't recall. Shaggy. Long hair.
Nina changed out of her work clothes.
We sat and talked for a while. We bantered back and forth and at one point joked about how she's half an inch shorter than I am. Told her to stand up. She did; I did. We stood face to face. I pulled her close to use my hand to measure the difference, and we kissed. I don't know who did it first... it just sort of happened.
I offered her a massage. We went into her room and she lay on the bed where I kneaded and pressed the tension out of her back and shoulders and arms.
A knock came at the door.
It was her mom and brother.
We stood outside for a little bit chatting. Apparently her mom had come to pick up the car, because Nina's Grandmom (Mumy) needed to work today.
Went back in. Decided to watch a couple movies.
We watched "Legally Blonde" which I thought was pretty good, and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
Then we decided to go to bed.
We kissed quite a bit before falling asleep... perhaps an hour or so.
I got less than an hour of sleep, because between two dogs, a cat, a guinea pig, and a ferret, not to mention my allergy medicine wearing off, I just couldn't.
Tossed and turned all night.
