Jumping to Conclusions

While gathering and taking the boxes down for the Christmas decorations (yes we're taking them down early this year, WOOT!) I happened to peek into a bookshelf that I haven't been able to in a while. (Boxes were in the way.)

Inside I saw my old "Mac Bible" - Sad Macs, Bombs, and Other Disasters. 4th edition. (Sadly also the last.)

Anyway, my mind flashed back to the day I got it from Amazon. When I'd started at Micro, one of the books my trainer suggested that I peruse was "Sad Macs." So I ordered it. (At then-full price of 40 bucks.)
When I got the delivery Mom was all "ohh oohh what did you get what did you get" and I told her "books for work" and then showed her. And she, in all seriousness, sees the cover of the book and all but hangs her head - deadly serious - and says, "Oh, Michael, I always knew you had a dark streak in you, but I never thought you'd really go down the path..."

Which of course then led me to spend over a half hour trying to explain to her what a Sad Mac, and a Mac Bomb, and other Mac Disasters truly meant. Even found the picture of said Mac Bomb in said book to show said confused woman.
