I've started geocaching.

I've been interested in it for a few years, since first hearing about it, but I could never pony up the cash to buy a dedicated GPS unit - especially since I could easily find directions to whereever I needed to go.

Then I got my Palm Pre in October 09. And found geocaching apps for it shortly thereafter.
And went to the 4th party hosted by Spike.
Whereupon he took first Painne, Bloodspyke, and I out to find one, and then Kneelan and I the next day for a "First to Find."

That was July 4th. It's now August 5th and I found my 19th this morning before work.

I really do enjoy it. Especially with others - I was in Texas for the 23rd to the 1st of August and was able to grab 12 caches (1 Earth, 11 regular) with the folks I was staying with.

Playing "treasure hunt" with billion dollar satellites really does rock :D

Subject:Writer's Block: In a Jam

If you were in trouble or ran afoul of the law, which fictional detective or investigator—from tv, movies, or books—would you want to help you?

This one's easy.
I'd want the gang from CSI: Las Vegas - Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, Warrick Brown, Sara Sidle, Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, and their respective lab techs too.

Or Data. Elementary!

Mood: silly

It hasn't been too funny really.

I must have missed it.

Nothing funny's going on today.

Slashdot added Achievements.

Blizzard is now offering a Pimp My Mount service.

Warcraftpets discovered the Weighted Companion Cube non-combat pet.

And Mom apparently missed the 18 inches of snow we got last night!

Oh and I'm pregnant.

Subject:Leavin' on a Jet Plane

... in approximately 9 hours to fly to Texas.

Of course I need to be up at 3am so that I can get showered and to the airport by 4.


On the negative side, I'll be extremely sad and will miss my girlfriend.

On the positive side, I'll be 1500 miles away from family and work.

Subject:Food Journal - 7/16

Breakfast: Wawa bacon egg and cheese bagel, 16oz OJ

Lunch: Salad. Iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, chopped red onion, green olives with pimentos, a spoonful of guacamole, baby corn, a small amount of cubed turkey breast. Also, ~.7 lbs of Chinese food... fried scallop, mushroom chicken, sesame chicken, green beans, sweet and sour chicken without sauce.

Dinner: Panera. Chicken bacon dijon half sandwich and a bowl of garden vegetable soup.

Snack: one 3-inch pumpernickel rye pretzel stick.

Breakfast: Wawa bacon egg and cheese bagel, 16 oz OJ

Lunch: Salad. romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, seafood salad, crab salad, broccoli cheese bacon salad, red-skinned potato salad. Fruit. Watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, heaven dip, small brownie.

Dinner: Carrabba's. Seafood di Venezia. Crusted salmon fillet, crabmeat and pinenut stuffed shrimp, vegetable ravioli (not that good), asparagus. Also bruschetta and tiramisu.

No snack.

Breakfast: Wawa bacon egg and cheese on bagel. 16 oz OJ.

Lunch: Salad. Romaine, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli cheese bacon salad, seafood salad, crab salad, shrimp pasta salad. White zinfandel dressing. Watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, heaven dip, cherry forest pudding cake thing.

Dinner: 4 inch chicken cheesesteak wrap with a few fries.

Snack: None

Subject:Food Journal - 7/13

Breakfast: bowl of organic flax plus with pumpkin seed cereal, 2% lactaid

Lunch: Banana and a mouthful of Tropical chex mix

Dinner: Buffet. What didn't I eat? Heh. Chicken florentine soup, mango-grilled pork chop, italian garlic rice, spring rolls, baby bok choy (not that good actually), sausage and peppers, and a couple other things I can't remember. Dessert was some meh coconut cream pie, a tablespoon or so of crushed toffee candy bar, and some kind of brownie thing that tasted like a Dunkin Donuts munchkin flattened into a 1/4 inch cake.

Late Dinner/Snack: Fries, onion rings, and a peanut butter cup milkshake. None of us knew how we were able to eat these so soon after dinner.

Breakfast: Wawa bacon egg and cheese on bagel, 16 oz OJ

Lunch: Panera Chicken Salad on sesame with lettuce and onion, garden vegetable soup

Dinner: ~5 inches of italian and roast beef hoagie/sub

Snack: 2 large scoops of blue raspberry sherbet, 2 twizzlers, 4 pretzel rods, a handful of cashews (HP5 movie night.)

Lunch: 12 pcs of California Roll Sushi, .8 lbs of mixed salads (corn, red potato, tomato pesto tofu, seafood, mushroom)

Dinner: 4oz of sliced steak, 1.5cups of boiled noodles with margarine and pepper.

No Snack.

Breakfast - Wawa Bacon egg and cheese bagel. 16 oz OJ.

Lunch - .8lbs salad. romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, white zinfandel dressing. small spoonfuls of seafood salad, broccoli cauliflower salad, crab salad, corn salad. Fruit selection - 1lb of watermelon, pineapple, and strawberries (though I had to chuck the strawberries) a small 2x2x2 brownie and a bit of fruit dip.

Dinner - Salami and american cheese on a round roll with spicy brown mustard, a teaspoon or so of dill relish, and a couple drops of hot sauce.

No Snack.

Breakfast - Organic flax plus cereal with pumpkin seeds. 2% lactaid milk. 3/4 cup and 1/2 cup respectively.

Lunch - 4 pieces of cinnamon roll toast

Dinner - 1/3d lb crab cake sandwich (baked) with fries (only ate half) and a crock of chili which had about 1.5 cups in it. Sprite.

Snack - ham and cheese sandwich

Drank a LOT of water today. Had a migraine and stomach issues.

Dinner: Broiled scallops wrapped in bacon. Cajun popcorn shrimp. Caesar salad. Fresh bread. Maryland vegetable crab soup. Rice pilaf, french fries, and grilled mahi mahi with pineapple salsa.

Lunch - chicken cheese steak w/ cheddar cheese, light mayo, and raw onions on a whole wheat roll. 8 oz italian wedding soup. Iced tea

Dinner - bowl of organic flax plus pumpkin seed cereal, appx 1.5 cups, with 2% lactose-free milk.

Breakfast- Wawa sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin. 16 oz OJ

Lunch - Panera, "frontega chicken" sandwich, chicken noodle soup, iced tea.

Dinner - Small meatball sandwich with mayo and dill relish, water.

Snack - Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, decaf, raspberry flavored, half and half, splenda. Maybe 6 ozs out of a 20 oz.
